Mallorca has always been my favourite holiday destination, with its stunning sandy beaches, crystal clear sea and charming mountain villages, I really think it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I have been to Mallorca around 20 times, so I thought I would share my absolute favourite places with you. This one week Mallorca itinerary covers my favourite beaches, villages, and hidden gems. There’s so many stunning destinations to visit in Mallorca, so I would recommend 2 weeks to explore the island, but one week is a great amount of time to explore the highlights!

Getting Around Mallorca

Mallorca is a large island, and with this itinerary you will be visiting a few different areas, so I would absolutely recommend hiring a car. They do have buses in Mallorca, but it can be difficult to visit certain beaches and towns, so hiring a car makes it so much easier and gives you the freedom to visit more remote areas. The roads are easy enough to drive around and never seem too busy other than in Palma. You can book your hire car with Discover Cars which compares the cost of different providers, then the hire car companies are in the airport when you leave and you collect your car from the carpark just opposite to the airport.

Where to Stay in Mallorca

This itinerary is based around Palma and the West side of Mallorca which is where I always choose to stay. Below are some excellent base options depending on your style and pace:

Palma– Palma is one of my favorite places to stay. It’s a stunning city packed with historic architecture, vibrant nightlife, boutique hotels, and incredible restaurants. As the island’s capital, it’s a convenient and dynamic base for exploring all corners of Mallorca—especially ideal for this itinerary.

Portals Nous- Located just 15 minutes from Palma, Portals Nous is an upmarket marina town known for its luxury yachts, chic beach clubs, and stylish restaurants.

Camp de Mar– This is a small beach town about 30 minutes from Palma.A standout here is the restaurant set on a small islet just off the beach, accessible via a wooden walkway. While the town itself is quiet with limited dining options, it’s a short drive to Port Andratx, which offers more variety.

Port Andratx– This beautiful harbour town doesn’t have a beach, but it makes up for it with its stunning waterfront setting, lined with yachts and lively terraces. There’s a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants, and it’s one of my top spots for sunset drinks, often with live music creating a relaxed, upscale vibe.

Santiye– Located on the southeast coast, Santanyí is close to some of the most breathtaking beaches in Mallorca, including Caló des Moro and Cala Llombards. The town itself is charming, with artisan markets, boutique shops, and a laid-back atmosphere. It’s a bit farther from Palma but well worth it if you’re planning to explore the island’s beachy side.

Sóller – Sóller is one of the most popular villages in the Tramuntana—and for good reason. Surrounded by orange groves and mountains, it has a lively town square, a beautiful church, and a strong local vibe. It’s also easily accessible from Palma by the vintage wooden train, and just 10 minutes from the beach at Port de Sóller via tram.

Valldemossa– Valldemossa is a postcard-perfect village known for its stone houses, cobbled streets, and the famous Royal Charterhouse, where composer Frédéric Chopin once stayed. Set in the mountains just 25 minutes from Palma, it’s quieter than Sóller but ideal for those who want a peaceful retreat with easy access to Palma and Deià.

Deià– Nestled between cliffs and sea, Deià is a tiny, artistic village with a big reputation. It has long attracted writers, musicians, and creatives—and still exudes that laid-back bohemian charm. With just a handful of boutique hotels and restaurants, it’s a luxury hideaway perfect for relaxation, scenic hikes, and the dramatic views from Cala Deià, one of the most beautiful coves on the island. Ideal for honeymoons or romantic stays.

Day 1 in Mallorca

Explore Palma de Mallorca

Your first day in Mallorca will be spent exploring the Capital City, Palma. Palma is a beautiful city with stunning architecture, history and close to the sea. It is walkable so I usually like to go with no real plans and just have a wander around.

For breakfast, I would recommend heading to Lili’s which is a beautiful cafe with fresh locally sourced food. I have also added some more breakfast and coffee shop options in the interactive map.

Then I would recommend having a wander around the Old Town, this is such a pretty area with cobblestone streets, shops and bars. Make sure to visit Palma Cathedral (La Seu). This is such a stunning Cathedral with gothic architecture.

I would recommend getting an ice cream from Rivareno gelateria. I have had a lot of good ice cream but this is by far the best. I can’t visit Mallorca without coming here!

In the afternoon, I would recommend walking along the waterfront promenade, there are lots of yachts here and you can stop for a drink in a cafe or in one of the beautiful bars along the front.

For dinner, I would recommend a tapas tour around Palma and then head to a rooftop bar to watch the sunset.

Day 2 in Mallorca

Camp de Mar and Restaurant Illetes

Start off your day with a slow coffee and pastry from Palma Bread, or wherever you have chosen to base yourself. I have included breakfast place recommendations in the day one section of the interactive map.

Then drive to Camp de Mar, this is a small town about a 30 minute drive from Palma, with a small family friendly beach. The water here is crystal clear and really calm to swim in, and you can either hire sunbeds or take your own towel and just sit on the beach. The main reason however I am recommending to visit camp de mar is because it is where my favourite restaurant in Mallorca is located. Restaurant Illeta is a restaurant on a small islet just across from the main beach in camp de mar, that you can reach by walking across the floating bridge. It is such a beautiful restaurant, I would recommend trying the Paella here. It has become more and more popular over the past few years so I would recommend booking, however if you do just turn up they will fit you in, you will just need to wait for a table. This restaurant also has some rocks you can jump off into the sea from.

Port d’Andratx and Sant Elm

Then in the afternoon, I would recommend stopping at a few nearby towns before heading back to Palma or your base town. The first in Port d’Andratx. This is a beautiful harbor town with lots of lovely waterfront cafes and bars, boutique shops and yachts.

If you have time, I would also recommend heading to Sant Elm which is a small coastal village which is pretty to walk through, there’s a small beach and little shops, bars and cafes. Then it will be about an hour’s drive back to Palma, so I would recommend spending your evening in Palma.

I would recommend having a drink at Bar La Sang which is a wine bar serving local, natural wines. Another great bar is Bishop Wine Studio which do amazing cocktails. Then for dinner, I would recommend Rikito which is an Italian restaurant serving fresh pasta. I do also have some other recommendations for this evening on the interactive map.

Day 3 in Mallorca

Sóller, Valldemossa and Deià

On day three, you will visit three beautiful mountain villages. This is always my favourite day trip to take in Mallorca, the drive there is so scenic with coastal views and the towns are so beautiful. There are lots of amazing cafes and restaurants in these three towns so I would recommend waiting to have breakfast here.

The first stop is going to be Sóller. You can actually take a historic wooden train from Palma to Sóller which is so lovely and is such a beautiful journey. However, if you would like to visit the other towns on this day it is best to drive. The towns are small so I wouldn’t plan anything too much, just take a stroll around and take it in. In Sóller, there is an iconic church in the main centre called Sant Bartomeu Church I would recommend visiting. Then you can wander around Plaça de la Constitució and take a look at the local shops and cafes there. There is a vintage wooden train that you can take from Sóller down to Port de Sóller which is where the beach is, I would definitely recommend doing this. The port is beautiful and it is such a pretty ride down.

Location wise, it would make sense to visit Deià next however, I am going to recommend having dinner in Deià so I would suggest ending the trip here. Instead, head to Valldemossa which is about a 30 minute drive. I think this is actually my favourite town of the three, it is so beautiful with cobblestone streets, lots of beautiful local shops and stunning views over the countryside. Make sure to visit Aromas and try  a coca de patata which is a sweet bread bun made from boiled potatoes. This is a local delicacy.

For your final stop, head to Deià which is just a 15 minute drive away. This is a small village with not loads to do, however it is really pretty and has lots of great restaurants which is why I suggest coming for dinner. There is also a lovely, really aesthetic cafe here called de moniö I would recommend visiting. You can also drive down to Cala Deià if you have time to spend a bit of time on this beach. For a beachside restaurant to watch the sunset, I would recommend Restaurant Sa Foradada which is a short drive away from Deia. For a more luxury dinner, I would recommend La Residencia or El Olivo which are both part of the Belmond Hotel. Another beautiful restaurant I would recommend is Restaurante Miró which has the same beautiful views as the previous two, and beautiful interior.

If you would rather not eat dinner in Deià, I would suggest visiting Deià before Valldemossa for lunch time. Then drive down to Cala Deià and eat lunch at C’as Patro March which is a stunning, iconic beach restaurant overlooking the most blue sea. You will need to book well in advance as this can be booked up for months!

Day 4 in Mallorca

Day at a Beach Club

After quite a busy day, on day 4 I suggest spending at one of Mallorcas beautiful beach clubs to relax. My favourite is Gran Folies Beach Club which is a stunning beach club located near Camp de Mar and Port d’Andratx where you went on day 2. It has a pool, is right on the sea front and also has a choice of restaurants. You will need to book your sunbeds in advance.

Then on your way back to Palma, I would recommend stopping at Puerto Portals in Portals Nous. This is a stunning, upmarket port with lots of amazing bars and restaurants. I would recommend having a drink outside at Cappuccino, and then heading for dinner at Restaurante Flanigan. I would recommend booking a table for dinner here. I have a few other dinner recommendations on the interactive map for Puerto Portals.

If you go in July or August, there is a sunset market on here every Wednesday and Thursday with live music, selling clothes, jewellery, art and home decor. I would definitely recommend visiting when this is on.

Day 5 in Mallorca

Beach Hopping

On day 5, I would recommend visiting the best beaches in southeast Mallorca. Cala Llombards, Caló des Moro & Cala S’Almunia have some of the bluest, calmest water, white sand and they are surrounded by cliffs.

The first beach to visit is Cala Llombards which is about 1 hour 10 minute drive from Palma. The best way to visit is by car, the public transport to these beaches is limited. There is a free car park next to the beach but I would recommend getting there early to get a space. This is such a picturesque beach with rocks, a ladder to take you into the water to swim and a few fisherman’s huts.

The next beach to visit is Caló des Moro. You can access this beach on foot from Cala Llombards carpark, it is about a 20 minute walk. The roads to the cove are restricted to residents only so unfortunately you won’t be able to drive here. You will reach some stairs to get down to the cover which are quite steep so I would recommend wearing sensible shoes. This is a small remote cove, with no sunbeds, toilets, bar etc however it is extremely beautiful and the sea is crystal clear here and it has beautiful white sand. I don’t think you need to spent too long here, and I wouldn’t recommend this beach for families due to the climb down.

The final stop of the beach hopping day is Cala S’Almunia, a charming inlet with old fishermen’s houses and turquoise water perfect for snorkeling or cliff jumping. This is just a 5 minute walk from Caló des Moro but again it is quite steep down to the beach.

Family Friendly Beach Day

If you are looking for a more relaxing, family friendly beach day, I would recommend visiting Paguera instead. It is about a 25 minute drive from Palma. This town has two big sandy beaches, calm water and plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas to hire so it is perfect for families. Platja Palmira is my favourite of the two beaches. I would recommend getting a drink in the bar at Hotel Villamil. Then I would recommend lunch at my favourite restaurant there Mar y Mar which is a stunning seafood restaurant right on the beach. It is just a short walk across to the next beach to get to this beach bar. I would also recommend doing a coastal walk over to Cala Fornells which is a small cove with a really beautiful coastal walk with views over the sea. There is also a lovely restaurant here called La Gran Tortuga which has stunning views over the sea and a pool in the middle of the restaurant. If you don’t eat here, I would recommend getting a drink here.

Day 6 in Mallorca

Mallorca Vineyards

On day 6, I would recommend visiting a vineyard to experience Mallorcas wine country. The central wine country is easy to access from Palma. The vineyards are stunning to visit in the beautiful countryside, however if you are planning to taste wines I would recommend booking a tour so your pick up and drop off is included.

A great winery (Bodega) to visit is Bodega Ribas which is one of the oldest Bodegas in Mallorca. The gardens and outside area of the house are beautiful, which is where you will try the wines and tapas.

I would also recommend visiting Binissalem which is a great wine region to explore, it has been awarded the Spanish D.O. (Denominación de Origen). Bodegas José L. Ferrer is one of the largest producers in this region and you can book a tour and a tasting experience here.

Another great option in the Binissalem region is Vins Nadal which is a family run winery and you can book to have a tour, wine tasting and try tapas here.

One of my favourite Vineyards in Mallorca is Bodegas Oliver Moragues. This Bodega has stunning gardens and an amazing view of the mountains, you can book to have wine tasting and food here. You can also book to stay overnight here.

Day 7 in Mallorca

Relax at a Local Beach

On your final day, I would suggest a more relaxing beach day in Ses Illetes.  This area is about a 14 minute drive from Palma, or if you want to take public transport you can get the number 4 bus which takes about 30 minutes and costs 2 euros each way. There are a few beaches to choose from including: Playa de Illetes, Cala Xinxell and Platya de S’Illetes. The sea is crystal clear and calm here, there are 3 sandy beaches to choose from and there are sunbeds you can rent for the day as well. There are also beach clubs, restaurants and bars all around this area so you can easily find somewhere for lunch or a drink.

Finally, end your trip to Mallorca with dinner and drinks in Palma. I would recommend booking The Merchants for dinner. This is a stunning restaurant set in a dreamy outside courtyard. Then have an amazing cocktail from Arlequin cocktail bar or Mirall Bar.

Markets

Mallorca has a number of markets in different locations across the island with set dates. They are only on certain days of the week, but if you can align your itinerary to visit one I would definitely recommend doing this. Make sure to get there early, and bring cash as most stalls only accept cash.

Santanyi Market is a beautiful market selling food, clothing, ceramics, and jewellery. This market is on every Wednesday and Saturday, located in a beautiful town which has lots of lovely boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. You could combine this with the trip to Cala Llombards, Caló des Moro & Cala S’Almunia.

Valldemossa market is on every Sunday and sells local crafts, produce and pastries.

In July and August, Puerto Portals in Portals Nous has a sunset market that takes place every Wednesday and Thursday from 9th July to 7th August selling clothes, jewellery, home decor. There’s also live music and drinks. This is my favourite of the markets and you can combine this for when you go for dinner in Puerto Portals.

Pollensa Market takes place every Sunday in a beautiful square selling art and local produce.
